Tavern Dmitar Dane and Duje
Home Property facilities Tavern Dmitar Dane and Duje
According to tradition and family memory, the tavern dates from the 16th century when this area was under Ottoman rule, and the specific shape of this former armory (small arsenal) with a domed stone vault is typical for the construction of that era. Throughout its history, the tavern has had various uses, but it has always been used as a warehouse and tavern because of its thick walls that keep the temperature below 20 °C, even in summer.
According to folklore of the family and the village, the building testifies to the turbulent history of this area and almost serves as a time machine that takes you back in time, as time seems to have stood still in it.
Dinners served in our tavern are an unforgettable experience as they take you back to the history and satisfy all the senses through an authentic way of preparing, serving and consuming food and wine that come from this soil.
